“Childbirth is an experience in a woman’s life that holds the power to transform her forever.  Passing through these powerful gates – in her own way – remembering all the generations of women who walk with her… She is never alone.” – Suzanne Arms

Birth Doula Package #1 (Great for first-time parents or those looking for a more supported, encouraging experience)

  • One complimentary consultation to get to know each other, discuss how doula services can benefit you and determine if we would be a good fit together.

  • Two prenatal appointments. During these appointments, we’ll go over what to expect during labor and delivery, coping techniques, any questions, concerns, and preferences you may have and create a birth plan. If I am booked after the 36th week, at least one prenatal appointment will be arranged.
  • Unlimited support via phone, email and text messages.

  • On call starting two weeks before your estimated due date until birth.

  • Continuous support during labor and birth, beginning when you contact me in labor through one to two hours after birth.

  • Photos to document your labor/birth experience.

  • Initial breastfeeding support immediately following the birth, if desired.

  • One postpartum visit in your home within the first two weeks after birth, ideally scheduled in the first week. During this visit, we can discuss your birth experience, any concerns, and your transition into parenting.

  • A written account of your birth story.

This birth doula package is $800. Half is due at the first prenatal visit and the remainder is due at 38 weeks when I go on call. Payment plans are available by request. I serve the Chicagoland area, specifically a 30-mile radius of 60491.

Belly binding © Angie Helwich

Belly binding visit:

This method of belly binding is cost effective and more reusable than the expensive store-bought binders that are hot, bulky and don’t fit well. The visit includes discussion of your needs and instructions how to use the binder. The binder is yours to keep. The belly binding visit is usually scheduled within the first 2 weeks after birth for vaginal births, up to 6 weeks for a cesarean. To learn more about belly binding, read here.

Cost: $75, the visit is up to 2 hours in length and includes a fabric binder.

Birth/postpartum planning session:

Don’t have time for a class but want to understand your options? From options for pain relief to understanding what a gentle cesarean is, or creating a support system, meal planning, babywearing and other tricks that will help you transition into the postpartum time, this session can be scheduled at your convenience.

Cost: $75 for up to a 3-hour session. Additional hours can be added for $25/hour.
